FAITH Horsemanship is a safe place where people of all ages, ethnicities and backgrounds can come to learn essential life skills in dealing with adversity and work towards becoming the best version of themselves through The Way of The Horse.
We are an Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) Facility dedicated to guiding people into positive transformation when facing adversity by providing the opportunity to learn from the most unbiased, powerful teacher of all- The Horse.
Equine Assisted Learning is an alternative and holistic approach to learning and healing where the equine species are the teachers encouraging people to fully reach their potential. Those participating in EAL programs learn life skills that will serve them well in any life endeavor.
Horses are the most honest and empowering animals that provide instant nonverbal feedback in a most authentic way. They do not judge humans based on preconceived notions, bias, status quo or stereotypes, but only by the emotional state of the person interacting with them. They are always present in the moment and because they are prey animals, they are finely tuned into their environment and the body language of those around them. They can’t lie and they are hyper sensitive to incongruence which helps aid individuals to properly assess their emotions and be spurred on to deal with them in an effective and beneficial way.
Participants in EAL exercises learn leadership skills, how to become truly confident, communicate more effectively, problem solve and regulate their emotions by building trust and work ethic through The Way of The Horse. Horses offer participants a chance at genuine connection in a disconnected, highly dysfunctional and incredibly toxic world. For a person to experience positive, long lasting change, they must move from where they are and the movement involved with horses in EAL activities impacts our spirit in a most profound way.
EAL is not lying on a couch talking to a therapist about one’s problems and then being prescribed medication to deal with them short term. It is NOT a therapeutic horseback riding program. We do NOT ride the horses- we work alongside the horses on the ground using our own two feet to dig down deep into ourselves to discover solutions to face adversity that last a lifetime. EAL is about doing-not talking.
Horses are the best teachers of life skills because they demand personal leadership and can teach you how to apply needed skills to your life. How, you ask?
